In the 窶廡ile name窶 field you enter the default file name for simulation results. The default name is used each time you create a new folder, and appears in the 窶廡ile name窶 field in the upper part of the folder window when viewed in 窶彜imulation view窶 mode. As soon as you run a simulation from this folder, the 窶廡ile name窶 attribute of the folder will change to the file name you specify for your results.
Note, however, that each time you run a simulation, the current file name attribute will appear as the default name in the 窶彜ave as窶ｦ窶 dialog box. In particular when you run the first simulation from a folder, the default file name will be the name specified in the 窶弃references窶.
The 窶廰ock seed窶 checkbox is used to choose the default seed settings used each time you create a new folder.
The seed is an integer used as a start value for the random number generator, and can be any number between 1 and 2147483646. If you run two simulations on the same model, and with the same seed, the results will be exactly the same.
The seed settings of a folder is shown in the upper left-hand part of its window when viewed in 窶彜imulation view窶 mode.
If the border of the 窶彜eed窶 field is a solid line, the seed is locked to the value specified in the field. Unless you change it yourself, DynRisk will use the current seed value each time you run a simulation. To change the seed, you just enter a new number into the field.
If the border of the 窶彜eed窶 field is a dotted line, the seed is unlocked. This means that DynRisk will generate a new random seed each time you run a simulation, and display the new seed in the 窶彜eed窶 field afterwards. In this case there is no point in editing the seed yourself, since DynRisk will ignore your choice anyway. In fact you will see that in this case you are not allowed to edit the seed.
You lock and unlock the seed by clicking the 窶彜et窶 button to the right of the field.
Note that when the seed is locked, the seed field displays the seed to be used in the next simulation, while if the seed is unlocked, the seed field shows the seed that was used in the previous simulation.
In the 窶# Main simul. runs窶 and 窶# Crit. simul. runs窶 fields you enter the default number of main simulation runs and criticality/sensitivity simulation runs. These default numbers are used each time you create a new folder, and appears in the corresponding fields in the upper right-hand part of the folder window when viewed in 窶彜imulation view窶 mode.
